Thanks for visiting. I’m glad you’re here.

Howdy! I’ll go first.
The name is Ashley, but the handful of people who love me call me, Ash.
You can call me what you want.
Growing up, I split most of my time between the city streets of Minneapolis and the country roads of Wisconsin’s North Shore. No matter the county line and even to this day, I can almost always be found near or next to a body of water.
If I ever go missing, please check your local lake.
Anyway.
After graduating from the University of Wisconsin-Madison, School of Journalism, I moved back to the land of 10,000 to put those student loans to work.
When I am not at work, I am dancing.
What that means, in a nutshell, is this: vagabonding to new destinations, snagging tickets to see live music, treasure hunting through local antique shops, restoring old broken furniture and spending time with my favorite four-legged friend.
If I’m not talking to myself or singing the wrong lyrics to the wrong tune, I’m probably having a very important conversation with my dog, Arlo.
The main purpose of this blog is candid self-expression. Writing has always provided a nice break from the regular noise in my head.
This is a place where I try to make sense of the noise and start to embrace an unfiltered version of the person I am, and the person I’ve been.
It’s like a self-help book, but not the traditional kind because as far as I know, the only person I am really here to help is me.
That being said, I am always looking for opportunities to learn new things about the world and the people living in it. And although meeting new people and making new friends are two things that often feel like second nature to me, connecting with others is one of the things I enjoy most.
You too? Drop me a line.
Let’s do as the friends do.
